As many of you have heard by now, the rockslide near the end of the "Upper Seymour" canoe run has essentially created a new lake and is affecting trails and access. CBC News has an interesting video and explanation here. The information package sent out by Metro Vancouver and the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve can be found here.
A representative for various paddling organizations affected by the slide will attend meetings and look at how access for boating can be improved at the takeout. RCABC has advocated for maintaining and improving access for canoeists on the Upper Seymour for many years. If you haven't paddled it yet, it's a Grade III boulder garden that is one of the best technical canoe runs that BC has to offer.
