About Us

The RCABC supports paddlers, instructors, guides, and canoe clubs across British Columbia by providing training, resources, and community connections.

Our Mission & Values

Established in 1978, our mandate is to co-ordinate, promote, and encourage all types of recreational canoeing in BC and beyond.

Active throughout the province, we promote canoe courses and skill development; grow canoeing networks through events, clinics, and clubs; and support environmental and conservation initiatives to protect and give back to the land and water that allow us to learn, play, and enjoy canoeing in British Columbia, the Yukon, and beyond!

We strive to do our part to protect our lakes, rivers, oceans, and watersheds so that future generations may also enjoy canoeing on them.

Meet our Team

We are a member-funded association powered by the passion of our committed volunteers. Our executive includes Zone Reps who paddle throughout BC, the Yukon and beyond. Contact your local Zone Rep to learn more about canoeing opportunities in your area!

Vanessa Elton is the current President of the RCABC. Vanessa is an Instructor Trainer and school teacher based in Prince George. She is a passionate canoe tripper and she also teaches Big Canoe (Voyageur).
